Last evening Companies 52 & 49 was dispatched for a vehicle fire also involving a field at mile marker 31 south bound in Southampton Twp. Chief 49 arrived on the scene at mile marker 32 south bound in South Newton Twp. with a passenger car enginge compartment fire and grass along the Interstate on fire. Engine 152 was first in on the Interstate and handled the vehicle fire and they were assisted by Engine 49 and Tanker 52. Accessing from Hammond Road was Brush 249, Brush 52 and Tanker 49. ON THURSDAY COMPANY 49 WAS DISPATCHED TO MAPLE AVE AND EAST MAIN STREET IN WALNUT BOTTOM FOR A FUEL SPILL. AFTER RESPONDING COUNTY ADVISED US THIS WAS A RESULT OF AN AUTO ACCIDENT. UPON ARRIVAL WE FOUND EAST MAIN ST. BLOCKED WITH A SMALL FUEL SPILL. UNITS REMAINED FOR OVER 2 HOURS UNTIL THE DUMP TRUCK WAS REMOVED FROM THE ROAD BY A PENN DOT LOADER

April started out slow not running a call for the first 9 days. We ended the month with 3 medical assist calls and 11 fire/accident responses.
Today Engine 49 transfered to Co. 38 (Carlisle Barricks Fire Co) to cover for them while they assisted on a 2nd alarm fire in the Boro of Carlisle.
Tanker 49 responded to a reported work shop fire (former barn). Approx. 1.5 hrs into the incident command requested our Engine for manpower. Thanks to Adams County Co. 5 for covering the Bottom. Photo by Denny Clopper

After 10 days of no calls the silence was broke on April 9th with an automatic alarm at 49 Fleck Drive in South Newton Twp. Today, April 10th we were called to a field fire at 1425 Ritner Hwy, Southampton Twp. Brush 249,Utility and Tanker responded with 7. We assisted with fire suppression and filling Brush Trucks. On February 20th @ 23:56 units were dispatched for a house fire in the area of the 2200 block of Ritner Hwy. County received a second call from the home owner advising that the location was 7 Wagner Drive and everyone was out of the house. Utility 47 arrived and advised we had a fully involved double wide. Engine 49 arrived with heavy fire showing on a ranch style house. Deputy Chief Davidson requested 2 additional Tankers. Crews started to make an interior attack and then were pulled out for safety. A FF from Co. 47 fell through the floor and was transported to the hospital for burns. Crews remained on the scene until approx. 03:00. Thanks to Co. 46 for covering the station.
